Biography

Maxim Claeys obtained a masters degree in computer science from Ghent University, Belgium, in June 2012. In August 2012, he joined the Department of Information Technology at Ghent University, where he is active as a Ph.D. student. His main research interests are the application of autonomic network management approaches in multimedia delivery. Research interests

My main research interests are the application of autonomic network management approaches in multimedia delivery. In the past year, the focus of this research was mainly on the end-to-end Quality of Experience optimization through the design of intelligent autonomous clients in the area of HTTP Adaptive Streaming (HAS). In this research, reinforcement learning has been applied thoroughly. Furthermore, I have been active in the development of self-learning dynamic resource management approaches in virtual networks. At the moment, the research is more shifting to intelligent cache management approaches.
