Arriving at O'Hare International Airport

Information about the airport can be found at the O'Hare website. Among other things, information about how to get to downtown can be found there. Some of that information is summarized here.

  • Cab: The cost from the airport to downtown is approximately $30.00, not including tip. More information can be found at the City of Chicago Consumer Services website.
  • Shuttle: These are busses operated by the Continental Air Transport Company. The cost is $20.00 one-way, $36.00 roundtrip. Discounts are available for 2 people riding together.  The busses pick up outside the baggage claim areas of terminals 1, 2, and 3.
  • Public transportation: Public transportation is provided to downtown for $1.50 by the Chicago Transit Authority. From O'Hare, one can take the Blue Line elevated train to downtown. The station is located underground near terminal 2 (follow signs marked "Rapid Transit"). From there, the train runs on or above ground until it approaches downtown, where it becomes a subway. Get off at the Monroe stop and leave by the Monroe Street exit. You are now at Dearborn and Monroe. Walk west along Monroe one block to Clark Street. Turn left and walk south on Clark Street one block to Adams Street.  The Club Quarters Hotel is on Adams Street just west of the Clark street intersection.

Arriving at Midway Airport

Information about the airport can be found at the City of Chicago Midway website. For some reason, the site does not have information on how to get downtown. The information below should help.

  • Cab: The cost from the airport to downtown is approximately $20.00, not including tip. More information can be found at the City of Chicago Consumer Services website.
  • Shuttle: These are busses operated by the Continental Air Transport Company. The cost is $15.00 one-way, $27.00 roundtrip.
  • Public transportation: Public transportation is provided by the Chicago Transit Authority. From Midway, one can take the Orange Line elevated train to downtown. The station is located aboveground east of the airport. From there, the train runs aboveground to downtown. At downtown, the train enters a loop that circles the area. Get off at the Adams and Wabash stop. Walk downstairs to Adams Street and walk west (you can see the Art Institute one block east at the end of Adams - walk away from the Art Institute).  Walk on Adams Street 3 blocks to the intersection of Adams and Clark Street.  The Club Quarters Hotel is on Adams Street just west of the Clark street intersection.
